i love this car, it is so safe and reliable. great on gas! the comfort of the interior is great for long travel, the 2.0t engine gives you lots of power and the sport mode makes it fun!

This is by far the best car I have ever owned.
it get amazing fuel economy (1300km+ Highway) good power 263 lbs/ft of torque. great interior, not crazy on the leatherette but still very comfortable. the interior is very roomy, lots of room in the trunk. Love this car..

we just got this car 6 months ago and i got to say know driving any other car is just not up to par. i love it so much. my moms American made car not feels like driving a soap box.

I drive this vehicle for work and drive it very hard. So far this car has been fanastic. Quiet and smooth with no lapsing of power as of yet which i find common because I drive so hard. I reccomend.

I love this car, very reliable and comfortable, handled great throughout the winter, and the sunroof was fantastic to have during the summer. If I wasn't moving across the country I would definitely be keeping it.

This immaculate, rarely winter driven car offers a 2.8L, 30v, V6. This 5 door, silver/grey B5.5 has 129,500 kms and features a black leather interior, Burl-wood trim, with a 5 speed tiptronic transmission.

I continue to be impressed with this 2008 Passat, which I bought second-hand in 2011. The ride is comfortable and responsive, and engine performance is truly excellent from the 2.0 L turbo.

While it doesn't have all the latest gadgets and technology available, I find the Passat makes for a very well-equipped and inviting ride. Passengers have plenty of room front and back, and the driver has classic, well-designed controls within easy reach.

The eight-speaker stereo system sounds very good indeed, but the Aux jack for connecting your iPod is buzzy and bare-bones.

Aside from monthly (synthetic) engine oil top-ups (the engine does burn through oil quickly), maintenance has been as expected from a car with over 100,000 km on the odometer. High octane gas is required, but not unexpected in a turbo four cylinder.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this Passat, both inside and out.

Had Honda's, Nissan's and Toyota's in the past, but when I was looking to replace my old car, 2012 Passat TDI caught my eye. None of North American or Japanese come even close in comfort,fuel economy, workmanship,product finish, reliability and styling. Car is super comfortable, Fender stereo is a must for music lovers and lets not forget fuel economy. On my last trip i did 1300KM on 55l liters of diesel. Can anybody else give you that. Put it this way, I just hit 35000 KM and only did 33 visits to a gas station. I love the car and would buy one again.

My car has seen visited more tourist sights than most Canadian cars. A typical road trip for us would be a drive from BC to the South of California. A great highway and touring car. One that you can sit back and relax in during the worst of 501 traffic jams or pump up the music and cruise down the highway. It has plenty of head room and the back passenger seats offer tonnes of leg room. Not a typical sedan. She's spacious and with a V6 engine, she's sporty and responsive, too.

I love my 2007 VW Passat. Im only selling it as i dont need a car in the city any more. Its roomy, comfortable, safe, and hugs the road. it has tons of power and can get you to the speed you need without issue on highways, and still rides so smoothly at higher speeds.

6 speed transmission is something i pretty much guarantee i want in any future vehicle i will purchase.

seats 4-5 comfortably. the interior design layout is great. lots of bells and whistles that allow for great features that are easy and intuitive to use. massive trunk space, and the seats folding down add so much you can actually transport some rather long things in it.

seats heat up fast, engine heats up fast, ac gets cold quick, lots of great storage compartments, i would definitely buy another volkswagon.

Definitely a fun car to drive if you have anything over the V6 model. However this makes for not great fuel economy. The starter has been very unreliable as the car starts only about 75% of the time; when it doesn't start it just takes a few tries to get it going. Otherwise, great car and lots of fun!

WE have the TDI so mileage is good. It has good options and the ride is just ok. Long term trips are a struggle however day to day driving is ok. These cars are expensive to fix and honestly we seem to have it in the shop more than we have any other vehicle. I would not recommend it to anyone, there are alot of other good vehicles out there that I would rank much better than this.

Easy to drive around the city & park.

My veedub has been good, and I am seriously considering keeping it after the lease is up, the only con is the reliability, and cost associated with fixing it (especially the electronics). The car is a great mix of comfort and sportiness, and has the right style for my personality. Over all a win for VW.

My family bought the car brand new and we've had it for 12 years now.

Pros:
- Minimalist and timeless exteriors. The car still looks as good as when we first bought it and I love how you can put it beside brand new cars today and it would still look good!
- Ergonomic and attentively designed interiors. I have driven a few cars (both European luxury and Japanese cars) and have noticed how my Passat's interior controls have been intuitively placed and designed in comparison to other cars.
- Excellent suspension. The road handling and suspension is excellent which makes it a fun car to drive especially on the highways.
- Great storage room. The trunk can fit more than what your regular sedan can.

Cons:
- Expensive maintenance. After the warranty period, I found the maintenance to be very expensive despite my diligent twice a year regular scheduled maintenance.

Summary:
- Timeless and stand out car, but at a price.

Very reliable vehicle, with decent pick up and a whole lot of "go" once the turbo kicks in. Decent trunk space as well as good comfort for 4 and mediocre comfort for 5.

This is my girl friend's car and we use it to drive to seattle using the highway a lot and the performance is incredibly stable, powerful and quiet.
After a while though it gets quite costly to maintain it as fixing it cost an arm and legs.
overall love the car specially on the first 10 years of its life.

This vehicle was purchased in 2004 with approximately 90,000 km on it. We have owned previous Volkswagen vehicles and this car is one of the reasons we will always purchase a Volkswagen. We have never had any issues or concerns, not even now with over 320,000 km. Good leather interior, engine in great condition, and great mileage. Keep them coming like this VW!

This is our second Passat. Great leather interior, mileage is excellent (great for highway driving), 6 speed manual transmission, and great power acceleration. Although it is a great car, there are minor concerns with the electrical system - remote control opening all doors with the exception of the drivers door, fuse blowing from time to time when the phone charger is plugged in, and the greatest concern is the parking brake, which is not a manual lever, does not always release when you are ready to drive the car, with no easy fixes. Hopefully these issues have been fixed with newer model vehicles!

We have had this car for about a year now and use it for day to day family needs. It has quite a lot of room for a car this size. The gas mileage is not so great partly caused by the V6 engine.

Love the car! The GLS has lots of power with the 1.8 Turbo that kicks in and also the Tiptronic transmission allows you to downshift for additional power or up-shift for smooth cruising. It is an automatic with standard-like shifting options for ultimate control. The car is roomy and comfortable with lots of legroom, headroom and elbow room front and back. The rear seats fold down to allow you to take large items like skiis to the hills without fiddling with a roof rack, or you can pack your bike inside the car. The trunk space is amazingly large. It has a multi-function trip computer that provides you with all the data required for a safe and comfortable ride anywhere. It is a great family car and sporty enough for any first time buyer.
