Dodge SX 2.0 2003-2005Change

We were surprised at how many times we've taken our car into the shop. The fuel sensor in the gas tank has been replaced five times now. The turn signal has been replaced 3 times. The gas mileage is terrible on this car - we're lucky to get 18 mpg. But I think the biggest issue I have with this car is that the front corner posts are placed in such a way as to be viewing obstacles when driving. They create blind spots for pedestrians. This is a definite design flaw, in my opinion. The front seats aren't comfortable and have no lumbar support. The car is also very low to the ground- it was fine 13 years ago when I bought it but now I'm over 60 and find it aggravatingly low.

Great car, only minor fixes so far. Very reliable. Added some seat covers, steering wheel cover. Not average size for those so watch what you buy. Runs well, Great on gas.

Drove one of these for 9 years. Always started in the cold and never overheated in the heat. Amazing on gas and great acceleration and handling. Not too fancy but very reliable little car.

this car is very stable on the road for its size unlike others that feel like paper. I had it for past 8 years and had no major troubles.

This car has been nothing short of amazing. It's peppy, extremely attractive, far out of any competitors league.

The interior is well designed, seats are comfortable, the visibility is EXCELLENT all around. The quality and sturdy nature of the car would make you think you're in a much more expensive car.

Overall, extremely impressed, would recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet commuter car. Get compliments EVERY DAY on how attractive it is, and how expensive it looks. If you're looking at it, and you like it, BUY IT!

I have never had to use roadside assistance, (except once, see bottom of ad) or my block heater or had any sort of problems with it - not even a flat tire. Since I barely drove it (which is why I only have 40,248 kms on it, I have only discovered recently that it had child safety windows. Unfortunately, I pay through the nose for insurance and car parking for a car I don't use, so its time to let it go to someone who will actually drive the thing and cut my losses - not that I've had to get much done to it, just sitting in my parking spot insured costs me well over $100.00. With that savings, I'll taxi it in future, now that I'm retired, I use the thing even less.

Once I did have to get it towed (I just remembered) because I had not used it during a lot of freezing rain in the winter (remember THAT winter?), I had to get it towed OUT of my parking spot as the tires were stuck in ice. It was funny, not serious!

It has never failed us, for that matter it was the second Neon we have owned, had another previous to this one, which convinced us to get this one as well.

Had the first 1 for 4 years and turned it in then purchased this one.

We got all this work done as we planned to keep the car for another 4 years or so, should have no problem getting another 100k out of it, but we made the decision to grab a new vehicle instead.

I have mainly used this car for driving back and forth from home to school. It is good on gas, a smooth ride and always starts even in the bitter cold. I also used it for about 6 weeks straight, travelling 300km back and forth to a northern town. Cruise control works great and car did not experience any highway problems. It does not have the zip and zoom of some sportier vehicles, but this car is definitely practical for a university student or somebody looking for a reliable vehicle to get them around.

Has been a great all around car for me since I purchased it back in 2006 (brand new off the lot). The best feature for me was the sunroof for sure. But, the fuel economy is great, and the car has needed fairly minimal maintenance and repair over the years as well.....especially given the amount of Kilometres it has been driven. Excellent choice for a small family.....or even just a single person like me.

I have put way too much money into this car for what the value is. The car gets me from point a to point b and thats what I need so thats why I keep it.

I have this car for 8 years now, and I still like it.
Probably not the best reliability on the market, but still it did not cost me much yet.
I think this car rides like a bigger car, there is enough space for 4 people inside, and the driver position is great. Good comfort. The trunk space is small though.
I also like the performance for the category.

This is a good car for a small budget.

great little family car great for people with kids easy too get in and out of with children good trunk space alot of room for kids stuff great on gas

This car has never let me down. My wife was the first owner and she treated it like a baby and when I took it over I was the same.

Would make a great first car for a student

While this cars has flaws it has up point! Such as cheap/affordable. economic and just and all around car. What did not impress me was the brake system, it seems that brakes on dodge in general are really bad, to small, costly and always need to be check every few months.

I owned a Dodge SX 2.0 for 5 years. Having purchased it new in 2004 for approx. $21,000. The problems started at around 65,000km. The engine blew out and I had to have it re-bored completely. It never ran the same since and always vaguely smelt like coolant fluid after this. This seemed like a very short time for an engine to become labored and although I had the powertrain warranty, and it was still in effect, I think I deserved a whole new vehicle for having only driven the short distance I had with it. Frustrating to say the least. Several tire blow outs as well and problems with the cooling system throughout it's life. I should've bought the Corolla instead.

The car is very good on gas: lightweight, with manual transmission and 2.0L engine, it's extremely fun to drive. Perfect either for a student or for a senior, or good as a 2nd car or for long commutes - very easy and relaxing, cruise control works flawless. Parts are cheap too, lots of aftermarket performance add-ons available.

having owed one of these cars in the bitter north with the salt and sand for 7 years, i have to say it's stood the test of time remarkably well! i would recommend this as a definite worthy used car if you're in the market for a smaller family car.

Its a pretty reliable car to own. it is fairly easy on gas and is pretty good in the winter conditions. the parts for it is fairly cheap as well.

I love this car, It is great on gas, has brand new tires new altenator new radiator and has sunroof power locks. I will miss this car when it sells!

Bought it second hand, runs well and gets any jobs I need done. I think I got what I paid for on it. Good for many more years of fun

It was the first car I have ever purchased and I would have to say that I was very glad I did. Its small and very good on gas, not exactly a hybrid car, but its good enough especially with gas prices going up. Only things I hate about it is that There is very large blind spots, and like most Chryslers I know, It has a small issue with the transmission. (the transmission solenoid leaks). Other then that, I love my little SX. 2.0 sport.

I have an S.X. 2.0 since 2 years and I think this is a really good car. I didn't spend a lot of money to take care of it and I didn't have any big problem with it.
