2007 Saab 9-3

Trim: Aero Convertible
by Saab5410 on 12-11-2016
Great Car, Great Performance, Nice Design
Owned my Saab Aero Convertible for 8 years and love the car. Sometimes wish it was an automatic instead of the 6 spd. Very peppy, good ride, corners really well and overall the best Saab I've owned. My only complaint is the ignition coils keep going and have to be replaced. The first set worked for over 50K miles (US car that bought in Seattle), and since then after replacing all of them, I've had to replace 4 more and I've only put another 17K miles on the car. We're a Saab family, owning a 2010 9-3X wagon, a 2005 9-3 sedan and my convertible. Too bad the brand was driven into bankruptcy. A great little car brand was destroyed. I know, as I've owned over 20 Saabs after buying my first one in 1977. I read that Saab Scania might bring the car brand back. NEVS is building all electric Saab 9-3s under the NEVS brand, but the model only sells them in China. Pity.

Amazing car in all ways!
I really love this car. It has exceptional performance, amazing gas mileage on the highway, above-average mileage city-driving, nicely finished interior, no rust, spacious large trunk, and dedicated winter and summer wheels and rims. I have had every service at the Saab dealership, met all intervals, and upgraded every component along the way. GM is still supporting all SAAB upkeep, repairs, and ongoing needs - so no worries about SAAB's ownership. Ultimately, I bought the car because it's an excellent value for the money and as anyone who's ever driven or owned one will tell you, 125,000k is NOTHING on these engines. For the discerning owner who's looking for the best of all worlds - THIS is your car.

Great value car!
Does everything I needed and hoped it would do in a sports sedan. Terrific control, gas mileage is very good; very comfortable interior. Recommended car for an enthusiast at a fraction of the cost of other comparable cars.

2008 Saab 9-3

Trim: Aero sports combo

No longer quirky but still one of a kind
I live in Vancouver areas. I like to park my black 9-3 sports combi right next to Audis and BMWs, and my car will instantly make them look so bland and boring. In public parking lots I often get people walk around my car and tell me they have never seen one before and it looks beautiful. In the week I bought it, all my neighbours came look at it like I bought a Ferrari because it is so rare. But there's more than just being rare, it is very fast, comfortable, safe, practical and reliable.

2002 Saab 9-3

Trim: SE

A great ride. The Swedes really know how to design a 4 seasons car.
This is the SE model and is fully loaded with all the bells and whistles such as heated leather seats with memory option for the driver’s seat, auto temperature and climate control, factory AM/FM/CD, power sun roof, power door locks and windows, power mirrors, alloy wheels, headlamp wipers, fog lamps, 2 keys/fobs and well.... a lot of things to check out. Those Swedes really know how to build a complete all 4 season climate type car. Hey, this car even has an “Info Screen Center” that tells you if one of your tail lights are out or that you need to service it for oil changes even.

1999 Saab 9-3

Trim: SE
by Warrenpeace on 01-17-2014
Love it and can't imagine replacing it.
Bought in 2010 after being laid off from my job, for cheap. Learning how it all worked and how to fix it myself kept me sane. It's new enough that it has some great features: heated seats that warm up fast, amazing in snow thanks to front-wheel-drive, lots of power 'cause it's turbo-charged, stereo sounds amazing, amazing seats and tons of other little features that you wouldn't think a car of it's age would have. It also holds a crazy amount of stuff since it's a hatchback and even more once you put the rear seats down.

Due to it's age there's been a few expensive fixes needed 'cause things wear out, but I love it so much I've also spent a lot of money on unnecessary things 'cause I want it to run as well as possible. It now gets better mileage than when I got it and never fails to start right away, no matter how cold it is. Treat it well and look after it and a SAAB will never let you down.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone who doesn't want to look after their car or learn anything about it though.

A true classy and sporty european car!
The SAAB 9-3 Aero just offers the full package. The 60-degree turbo V6 has been custom-tailored for Saab to meet upscale demand. The twin-scroll turbo delivers almost nine pounds of boost at low and high rpm, providing ample thrust is available at all speeds, so passing maneuvers can be accomplished without shifting. The clutch is one of the smoothest on the market, making it the easiest manual car to be driven around town. The interior offers the best of Europe in term of style, functionality and ergonomic. As for the exterior, its style evokes class and sportiness at the same time. A "country house chic" style!

a great reliable car. luxury at its best
Owning my 2nd Saab this car has been extremely reliable. Excellent smooth ride with the sound and smoothness of the very well put together holden v6 turbo giving well enough power. Very fast. I would definitely recommend the aero with the v6 turbo....gas mileage isn't bad on the highway...an absolute bullet.

Loved my second Saab
The first was a 1996 Saab 900 and when it died I needed a car to hold me over until we had the budget for something newer and bigger. So I immediately went out and bought this car.

Saabs are great values used and if you do the proper maintenance they are no less reliable than any other car. The car drove amazingly for my period of ownership (160K - 220K) and I ended up selling it for only $800 dollars less than I paid for it. I put about $800 into it in repairs while I owned it.

Fun to drive, amazing trunk space and great on gas. The Turbo gives it the pickup when you need it and otherwise the car drives with an economical 2L engine.

(Sigh) I miss you Saab.

Turbo
This is a luxury car with Saab's trademark turbo engine. Full leather interior, extreme comfort, electric seat, windows and sunroof. Dual Control Air conditioning. Fantastic performance, rival to 3 Series, C-Class and A4. Remember Saab practically defined the turbo engine. Top class European performance car at a fantastic price.

Best Car I've Ever Owned!
I bought the Viggen when it was 2 years old. Modified to Nordic Stage 4 it's been extremely dependable along with lots of power and great fuel economy. Very comfortable on long trips with lots of room to haul stuff. The only issue I can see on the Viggen is that due to the highly bolstered front seats, getting in and out of the back seat of the Coupe is not so easy.....but so what, with this kind of performance, consider it a 2+2 sports car!!! Too bad SAAB is no more.....

Excellent value for money, powerful, fuel efficient car
For a 2 litre engine car, the turbo charger, really adds a big pump to the horsepower. while driving at 100 kmph, a slight push on the accelerator, takes it to well past 130 kmph.

seats are firm and cmfortable, typical of european car. very smartly done interiors. Features like the DTE (Distance to Empty), fuel mileage are very helpful indicators.

Love my Saab 9-3 2003 turbo linear
This car has great handling and good smooth pick up.
First gear has less torque then my 900 1997 but once in 2nd it really moves. The turbo has less lagg then the 900 and is always ready to kick in.
I love this car...only complaint is the gas gauge is intermittent and the win-shield washer fluid goes down fast due to the 2 extra nozzles on the headlights.
Seats are very comfortable.

Unknown Beast
I've owned this car for a year now and have driven it throughout 2 winters, freezing rain and perfect weather and all I got to say is that it the Saab performs flawlessly. I will start positive points; It's fast, like really fast. With almost no turbo lag, this station wagon hits 60mph in 6.4 seconds and third gear pull from 60 to 90 is amazing. You will fly by all the other cars on the highway. It's also very quiet but if you put your foot down, you will hear a satisfying engine rumble. The interior design lacks a lot of things for a car of this price range, it feels a but out dated, the seats are extremely comfortable but the ride is really harsh on the Aero model. The car is also sitting very low so you better watch out for speed bumps and potholes. Although it's a FWD, it's grip in snow is very impressive but with a huge amount of torque, I wish they had a AWD version (which they did make in 2008 onwards called the XWD). Because SAAB is virtually unknown to most people, it's re-sale value is very low so you can grab a piece of amazing history for a modest price. I guarantee you will have a lot of fun with this car.
